"Showing Their Scales" and "The Hockey Farmer"

We are pleased to introduce the works of local B.C. authors KP Wee and Farhan Devji to you:

"Showing Their Scales" contains three tales of lies, lust, and deception. These are short novels which deal with betrayal and revenge, with three main male characters and how they end up hurting the women in their lives.

"The Hockey Farmer" is a story about Logan Watt, who hails from Cochrane, Alberta, and has to decide whether to rehabilitate the legendary family farm or pursue an unlikely career in professional hockey. The story also shifts to Vancouver and contains numerous Vancouver Canucks references.

I am the best

Once again, I have shown my abilities when it comes to my job. Regardless of whether or not I get along with other fellow teachers, that's all irrelevant.

Yesterday during the graduation celebrations, I was told by a student (MK) that I am the No. 1 teacher out of all the ones that she has been taught by in Canada. No one at the table disagreed.

Why? Passion for teaching, well-preparedness, and so on.

Once again, I can look myself in the mirror and say that I care about what I do, and I do it well.

Shame on all those teachers who play the "I-don't-make-enough-money-so-I-shouldn't-try-hard" card. I don't work FOR those idiots. I am certainly not part of their gang.

And thus, the fact that I can do my job well makes me continue staying there, despite the fact that I could very well have done something that pays more.

Am I stupid? Well, if so, that's fine. I don't care what others among my peers think, to begin with.

As far as the market research stuff, I am still - in my humble opinion - doing well as team leader. So, status quo there too.
